Hi, hello! Welcome to 2025. To kick things off, we want to share some goals, updates, and news. If you’re a newsletter subscriber, you already know this but it’s worth sharing with our blog subscribers. Without further ado, here we go.
Social Media Updates
Well, 2024 has been a weird year for social media. There has been a lot of shifting in priorities. Many folks have left or joined platforms—us included. For example, Travis and I have left X; I rarely used it so it wasn’t a difficult departure. And since Tiktok may no longer be available in the US, we’ve been researching alternatives.
Here’s where you can find us now. Give us a follow on your favorite platforms:
Of course, you can always stay up to date by subscribing to our newsletter or blog. Our whole goal is to be plugged into the book community and find our readers. In the meantime, which platforms are your favorite? Which ones are you leaving behind in 2024? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
Join Our Group Author Chats
A few months ago, I started a group author chat. The point is to find a space to be real, unstuck, inspired, and educated about the current publishing world. It doesn’t matter if you’re indie or traditional or have published everything or nothing. You don’t have to fit into a certain genre; we’re currently looking at a mix of fiction, poetry, fantasy, memoir, spirituality, and more.
This group is meant to connect all my talented friends and reach our goals and dreams together.
We’re currently voting on when we’re meeting in December. You can click this link to express your interest and join future calls. I can’t wait to chat soon!
Support Authors—Shop Local
If you’re looking for ways to support me and your favorite authors, please shop local! It’s a win-win for readers, authors, and booksellers. While my books are on Amazon, I get more royalties and I build a bigger bookish community when I sell books through bookstores or my online shop.
Check out these local (online and physical) bookshops.

Help Lana & Her Family Leave Gaza
If you follow me on social media, you’ve probably (hopefully) seen my posts about Lana and her family. I got to know them during the month of October and I’ve done my best to spread the word about their circumstances. They’re currently enduring the cold season with hardly any food or adequate shelter.

If you’re able to donate to their GoFundMe, I’m offering free ebooks and free author coaching calls as additional thanks. Simply reply to this email, DM me, or email witandtravesty@gmail.com to let me know which ebook you’d like and I’ll send it over.
With such a modest following, I’m not sure I have the influence it takes to move the needle for this family but they’re so grateful that someone cares. They want you to know that they appreciate any and all support. Let’s help them get to safety so Lana can get the assistance she needs (she’s deaf) and the family can resume their normal lives.
Vindicated Queen Updates
I’m feeling sneaky today; if you made it to the rest of this post, then you’ll be rewarded with a quick update on The Vindicated Queen. There’s more to come but here’s what I can share:
The current wordcount is ~65k words. That’s a bit beyond my 60k goal! I have a few more chapters to finish and then it’s on to editing and working with beta readers. I’m so so excited for others to read what I have and give some feedback! I hope to publish The Vindicated Queen in September; I already have an author event scheduled for October, so I have some additional built-in accountability!
Overall, I’ve really enjoyed the writing process but especially with this story. It’s been fun adding more to Queen Anjali’s story and giving her the happily ever after she so rightly deserves. If you’re interested in being a sensitivity reader or beta reader, please reach out! You can use our Contact Us form.
Okay! Thank you for checking in after what is hopefully a wonderful holiday break. What are you most excited about? And how are you doing? I’d love to hear about what’s going on in your world.
