It only feels right to share more podcasts with you. I’ve found a new batch of podcasts for you. I truly believe that listening to a myriad of voices will help you really understand the world around you. So I hope you give some of these a try—even if you don’t normally listen to podcasts with political slants.
If you’re ready for part three, then read on. Also, if you’re curious about my other recommendations, you can check out part one and part two. Have you found any new recent podcast gems? As always, we’re all ears in the comment section!
Feel-Good Podcasts on Life & Creativity
The Hamilcast: If you’re a fellow Hamilton musical nerd, you need to listen to this podcast. It’s the place for people who want to get deep in the details of the lyrics, music choices, and historical contexts in the show. Recently, they had the #Lintoberfest episodes where they actually interviewed Lin Manuel Miranda and I had no choice but to fangirl along with them.
The Sheroic Podcast: Do you know Cassey Ho, the famous Blogilates instructor on Youtube? She now has a podcast about fitness, health, goal setting, motivation, and more. The podcast also includes a lot of interviews with cool women to talk about their insight on life or business for anyone who has an entrepreneur spirit.
Podcasts for Writers
Girl in Space: This podcast is actually a story. Each episode is a chapter that follows a young scientist doing her research alone—with a sassy AI at her side. This is a new podcast, so there’s only a few episodes. Sara Werner is already an amazing podcaster (I already featured her Write Now podcast), so you get to see her shine as a writer and storyteller. Please give this a listen if you’re a sci-fi fan.
Singing Bones: If you like fairy tales, historical contexts, and Australian accents, then you’ll melt over this podcast. I thoroughly enjoy Clare Testoni’s take on fairy tales and her storytelling skills. Instead of just reiterating the fairy tales we know, she digs as far back as possible to share the way the story has evolved over time. Friends, I’m a major fairy tale fan, so please listen to this if you’re also a fan.
Podcasts for Politics/Feminism
#GoodMuslimBadMuslim: This podcast is hosted by two Muslim women, Tax and Zahra. You can learn more about their experiences about being imperfect but hilariously honest Muslim women in America. It’s a good opportunity to learn more about how the news affects their community and how you can help support religious freedom in all its forms.
Another Round: Oh my days, this podcast is a delight. Hosts Tracy and Heben talk about pop culture, the black community, mental health, therapy, feminism, and more. They always have fun guests and a good attitude on how to live your life in a healthy way. There also may or may not be drinking going on while they podcast, which makes things interesting, too.
She’s All Fat: Newsflash: body weight is political. April and Sophie are fat and body positive, and they’ve dedicated their new-ish podcast to talking about how weight or fatphobia (for women particularly) is treated in politics and our culture. I’ve listened to quite a few body positive podcasts, but this is probably my favorite one. They are unapologetic about their size and attitudes and strive to be as intersectional with their feminism as possible.
The Read: If you can’t help but laugh out loud at really funny stuff, then you should only listen to this podcast when you’re not at work. Kidfury and Krissle are currently the funniest people in my earbuds. They cover a lot of the ups and down of black culture, talk about the news with their spin on it, answer letters about relationship advice, then end the podcast with “The Read,” which is time where they take turns about ranting about something going on. Their episodes are really long but good for the soul.

I put #GoodMuslim and Another Round on my large podcast list. I can’t wait to dive in!
I’m curious about the rest of this large podcast list! 🙂 What are some other podcasts you’re excited to try?
I have ones I listen to regularly: The Creative Penn, The Sell More Books Show, Writer Mom Podcast, and The School of Greatness. I also try to listen to Smarty Pants Book Marketing and Science Fiction &Fantasy podcast. There’s a couple of business ones and pop culture critiques on the list that i try every once in a while but I want to listen to more: Power, Profit, Pursuit and Bad Feminist Film Club.
There’s just so many podcasts to listen to!
