Hey, Leute! Here are some updates on how the month of June went for us. Thanks for reading!
Whitney:
This was a wild month of blogging and meeting my Camp NaNoWriMo goal. I set a goal of 10,000 words and I made it! My goal was to just do more creative writing since I’ve been stuck in editing/proofreading mode. It was hard writing so often, but it was fun! I know a lot more about my Edge of Empire character, Rathma, just by writing backstory stuff about her to figure out why she is the way she is.
I also to go through 90% of the beta reader edits. Let’s just say, I love being so close to finishing the edits. There’s just a few more this to finish and hopefully I’ll be done by the end of the month.
That’s pretty much all that’s been going on this month for me. This upcoming month will be back to editing, participating in #GISHWHES, blogging, and reading!
Goals for August
- Read & review an indie novel
- Participate in GISHWHES
- Finish Destiny Seeker proofreading
- Blog weekly
Travis:
Mmmm, that all-too-familiar tension in my gut grows as the summer starts winding down, and a new semester looms on the horizon. Can’t believe there’s just a month left! July was great though, as far as summer things go. Lots of fun and lots of relaxation. My writing group has more or less dissolved amid end-of-summer commitments and last minute vacations (hopefully to reform in September), but that didn’t keep me from writing something worthy for them to read each week. I’ve also been slowly picking away at the Star Wars Aftermath novel. It wasn’t very well received by fans, but I’ve mostly enjoyed it, particularly for the characters.
Goals for August
- Weekly writing
So those are some of our quick little updates. How about you? What’s in store for you in August? For most of us, it’s just one more month left of summer and then it’s back to the full-time school or work grind!
