Writing Updates & Goals
January has been a huge month, but not really a month of writing. It was mainly a time of reading, spreading the word about my Big News, and starting off the month right. I pulled off quite a few things in January as part of my publishing process. Besides dropping the big news and creating an timeline for the self publishing process, I found a book cover artist! I’ve already seen the preliminary sketches and I’m so excited. I also decided to publish my novel in two parts.
So, the goal for February will be to create an outline for part two of Destiny Seeker to ensure it’s just as rounded out as part one. I’ll probably start writing some of those scenes as well. It’ll keep me busy while Travis holds my manuscript hostage. What are best friends for, right?
I’ll also continue to rock my Goodreads 50-book challenge. Surprise, surprise: I managed to read four books in January, and they were all wonderful! So I can’t wait to gobble up four more books.
Travis will be editing all month while he continues to write. He’s also teaching himself how to use a Wacom tablet and so far, it’s been fun to watch him be creative in a different way.

What’s Coming in February?
To give you a sneak peak of what’s to come in February, here’s a quick list:
New Book Reviews: I recently subscribed to F-BOM, and so I’m getting a steady flow of feminist indie novels mailed to me. How cool is that? I’m not even paid to say that; I’m just a fan. Anyway, look out for those book reviews.
Blog posts: I’ve been meaning to share my two cents on feminism for a while now, and what better time to talk about it than February? I try not to be coy or mysterious about how I feel about gender equality, but sometimes a thinkpiece on feminism and storytelling is necessary. You be the judge!
We’ll also have a special post dedicated to Black History Month. Let us know which African American writers, musicians, bloggers, cosplayers, or influencers have made an impact on your life!
There’s been some buzz about the new algorithm changes going on for you who want to grow your social media feeds. I’ve done some research that I’d like to share. Let’s support each other, right?
