Whitney:
Oh man, once you finish a draft, there’s always a crap-ton of things you forgot to put in there. While four friends/editors have been plowing through, I’ve been remembering a few elements and sprinkling them in before I forget about them again. Keeping track of all your good ideas can be tough! I’m excited and nervous to get their revisions.
Speaking of editors, my writing group has expanded this year, which means more writing friends and more people helping me spruce up my manuscript! I had to craft a 5-page chapter-by-chapter summary of the first 30 chapters they haven’t seen so they could figure out what they’ve gotten themselves into.
Overall, I didn’t do so great with my goals because I’ve been sick since the new year began. Basically realized this week that I have a sinus infection. So a lot of the month was trying to relax and recover! Hopefully I’ll feel all better soon and I can get back to feeling productive. I have made leeway on my new year’s resolutions, which involve the standard: get healthier, eat healthier, and finish draft 2!
Goals for February
- Continue to make draft 2 progress
- Review an Indie book
- Create a vision board
Rewards for February Goals
- Fun date with Travesty
- New shoes
- Wash my car
- Time catching up on my shows
Travis:
Hey folks! Here’s hoping the first month of your year passed well! Things have gone well here. I’m very happy to say that I’m on top of my writing so far this year. I gotta give credit to having a really good teacher; I got off the waitlist at the end of December, and into a creative writing class from Brandon Sanderson! I’m pretty hyped about that. I’m in a new writing group for the class and enjoying it thoroughly! Looking forward to getting a lot of writing done.
Goals for February
- Weekly writing group submission
- Do two writing exercises to work on technique
So that’s our quick little update. How about you? What’s in store for you this February?
