Thanks for visiting Wit & Travesty!
Whitney and I are both “military brats,” and grew up in U.S. Air Force families. We’ve both grown up with literature, and loved reading from a young age. We both spent a lot of our childhoods overseas; in fact, we met in Germany! We exchanged drafts of our work with each other, and here we are ten years later. Our love of writing is part of what brought us together, and we’ve made Wit & Travesty as a way to share what we’re creating.
The cultural experiences we had have further fueled our passion for writing and storytelling. We both have a couple of different novel/novella style projects going at any given time, in addition to writing activities on the side, and we’ll share updates and information about these here on the site.
Whitney is an accomplished editor, having worked on several freelance self-publishing projects and edited for traditionally publishing authors, including working for Cedar Fort Publishing based in Utah. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in English and a minor in editing. She can be contacted here at the site for editing work of just about any kind.
I currently study at BYU and plan to graduate in English and editing as well. I spend a lot of time as a admin for The Skyrim Blog, a fan blog for Skyrim and also at The Bolter and Chainsword, a forum dedicated to Warhammer 40,000, a tabletop game developed by Games Workshop.
Both of us were also first-time NaNoWriMo winners in 2013. We both took the challenge to write 50,000 words in the month of November, and hope to make it a tradition. Whitney is currently a 2014 & 2015 winner.
